Live Concerts, scores of arts and crafts vendors to highlight Fourth
of July Freedom Festival
The Borough of Wildwood Crest will host its
Fourth of July Freedom Festival Friday through Sunday, July 3-5 at
the Gazebo-by-the-Sea at
Rambler Road
and
Ocean Avenue
. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
The Fourth of July Freedom Festival will
include entertainment and activities for the entire family,
including special live concerts Friday and Saturday evening.
Children’s activities will include an all-day moon bounce, face
painting and much more. Scores of arts and crafts vendors, with
products ranging from jewelry to pottery to photography to linens to
floral products, will line the Gazebo by the Sea area. Plenty of
food and refreshments will also be available.
Live entertainment will be provided throughout
the entire festival, including two special free live concerts on
Friday and Saturday evenings at the
Fern
Road

. On Friday, enjoy a “Night of Bruce Springsteen” with The B
Street Band, the No. 1 Tribute to the Boss, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. On
Saturday, the Mango Men, featuring the music of Jimmy Buffett,
today’s country and classic rock and some original summer-themed
music, will perform at 8 p.m. Opening for Mango Men at 6:30 p.m.
will be Hideaway, a classic rock/pop band. Following Saturday’s
performances, stick around for the spectacular Wildwoods Fourth of
July fireworks show at 10 p.m.

Christmas
in July Boat Parade July 18
Sunset
Lake
in Wildwood Crest will be the site of the grand finale for the 21st
annual Greater Wildwoods Christmas in July Boat Parade on Saturday,
July 18.
Beginning at 7:30 p.m., live music,
children’s activities and other family entertainment will be held
along
Sunset
Lake
on
New Jersey Avenue
between Rambler and Farragut roads.
The Greater Wildwoods Christmas in July Boat
Parade begins at 7:30 p.m. in the back
bay
of
North Wildwood
. Dozens of boats, decorated for the Christmas season, travel south
through the back bays of North Wildwood and Wildwood before the
parade reaches Wildwood Crest and eventually ends in Sunset Lake at
approximately 9:30 p.m. In addition, many bayfront homes, marinas
and docked boats along the parade route are also decorated for the
Christmas season.

Crest Mid-Summer Festival July 25-26

Mid-Summer Festival Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26 at the

Pier Fitness Classes
The Wildwood Crest Recreation Department will
once again host various fitness classes six days a week on the
refurbished beach pier located on the beach at
Heather Road
. Classes will be held Sunday, July 5 through Friday, Aug. 21 from
8:30 to 9:30 a.m. each day. Cost is $5 per class. A punch card good
for 12 classes can also be purchased for $50.
Classes will be as follows:
Sundays – yoga; Mondays – yogalates;
Tuesdays – Kick It Up (cardio kickboxing and weight training);
Wednesdays – cardio workout and body toning; Thursdays – Beach
Body Blast (body toning/sculpting); Fridays – Pilates.
Classes are directed by certified, energetic
and experienced fitness instructors.

The Wildwood Crest Recreation Department will
hold free yoga classes on beautiful
Sunset
Lake
along
New Jersey Avenue
at
Miami Road
each Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7:30 p.m. to dusk from July 7
through Aug. 27.
Recreation leader Bobi Watson will direct an
eclectic array of styles, calming the mind, focusing energy and
enhancing the yogic journey, while simultaneously offering the
opportunity to enjoy a twilight sunset on beautiful
Sunset
Lake
. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and should also
bring a mat or a blanket.

Youth
Swimming Lessons Offered
The Joseph Von Savage Pool, located at
8800 New Jersey Avenue
in Wildwood Crest, will offer two sessions of youth swim lessons
this summer. Each session consists of eight half-hour lessons.
Session I will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays
from July 7 to July 30, with lessons available each half hour from
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Session II will be held Aug. 4 through Aug.
27, with lessons available each half hour from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m.
Cost for each eight-lesson session is $80 for
children age 5 and older and $50 for the parent/toddler class for
ages 6 months through 4.
Registration will be taken in person at the
Joseph Von Savage Memorial Pool beginning Monday, June 22.

Paper
shredder available for borough residents
The Borough of Wildwood Crest encourages its
residents not to throw away their junk mail, personal records, old
receipts or other normally discarded documents, as the borough
offers its residents to use its commercial shredding machine located
the Crest Pier.
For the summer months, the shredding machine is
available for use by residents Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
evenings from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
