Minutes of Special Commissioners Meeting   -   July 31, 2013

Wildwood Crest, NJ

 

Prior to the opening of the meeting, Mr. Groon led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

The special meeting of the Board of Commissioners, Borough of Wildwood Crest, Cape May County, New Jersey, was held in the Municipal Court Room at 9:30 a.m.  On roll call the following answered to their names:

 

Gould - Cabrera Groon Yes

 

Mr. Groon read the following statement:  In compliance with the Open Public Meeting Act, Chapter 231, P.L. 1975, the notice requirements have been satisfied as to the time, place and date of holding said SPECIAL MEETING by posting notice on the bulletin board in the Borough Hall and by mailing and FAX transmitting same to the Herald, Gazette-Leader and The Press on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 10:53 A.M.

 

Mr. Groon next announced the one-way in and the one-way out method of ingress and egress in case of emergency.

 

The purpose of this special meeting was to discuss funding for various capital improvement projects.

 

The governing body confirmed with the Engineer and the CFO that the Beach Pier building tear-down and asbestos removal is $55,000.00

 

The governing body addressed the estimate on the interior of DPW office building at $360,000.00 plus engineering, plus contingency built-in totaling $450,000.00

 

The governing body addressed the fencing issue and combining it into one contract and completing the fencing down the entire south side of the barn grounds and recreation area, totaling $138,000.00 to include engineering.

 

The next issue discussed was Phase I playground.  The governing body confirmed with the CFO the total for the playground project is $185,000.00, to include engineering.  The tennis courts project added a third court, which totals $150,000.00 to include engineering as well. 

 

The last issue discussed was the Rambler Road project to include engineering totaled $112,000.00

 

The CFO confirmed it would put the bond ordinance at $950,000.00.

 

There being no public comments, and no further matters for discussion, Mrs. Gould motioned, seconded by Mr. Groon, that the meeting be adjourned.
