Mr. Cabrera reported that the Borough has received a response from the Byrne Fund to the Solicitor’s earlier correspondence. He advised that the Byrne Fund has indicated that they are still desirous of keeping the Surfside Restaurant reconstruction project in Wildwood Crest at Rambler Road, and requested that the Borough provide the Fund with an indication at the earliest possible time that the additional funding required to complete the project, in the vicinity of $200,000 to $300,000, would be provided by the Borough. Additionally, he indicated that the Byrne Fund is considering moving the project to the City of Wildwood if the Borough does not agree to the additional funding necessary.

Mr. Pantalone reported that he has spoken to the current owner of the Philip Baker House with regard to obtaining an independent appraisal for the purpose of the Borough purchasing the property through the Open Space Preservation Fund. He indicated that both he and Ms. Henderson are attempting to obtain an appropriate appraisal, and he will keep the Board of Commissioners informed.

Mr. Cabrera requested that the “fishing pier parking” matter be removed from the Old Business portion of the agenda. The Clerk responded that the problem of driving vehicles across the bike path, potentially causing damage to the bike path surface, will arise in the future. Mr. Pantalone responded, “it’s been that way a lot of years,” but indicated that he would be agreeable to whatever the other Commissioners wish to do about the situation. It was determined to leave the matter on the Old Business portion of the agenda.

There being no further discussions, and no public comments, Mr. Tomlin motioned, seconded by Mr. Cabrera, that the meeting be adjourned.

Vote:           Cabrera-Tomlin-Pantalone-Yes
